Meet the Founder

My name is Emma Ronan, and I am a secondary school Biology, Chemistry and Science teacher based in Ireland. I graduated from Maynooth University, where I completed a B.Sc. Science with Education followed by a Professional Master of Education (PME).

Alongside teaching, I am an educational author and the creator of a wide range of curriculum-specific revision resources.

​​

I have authored 6 published textbooks, including teacher resource books, and I am the creator of Ireland’s first-ever physical Leaving Cert & Junior Cycle Science flashcards, designed to make revision more engaging, accessible and effective for students.

I have been featured in The Irish Independent, The Irish Times, and on national and local radio, where I have shared insights on science education, study strategies and supporting students to achieve their potential. I have also been featured by TikTok through its Spotlight articles and STEM feed, and was invited as a STEM creator at TikTok's Stripe YSTE event.​​

 

Throughout my teaching career, I have recognised the need for high-quality, affordable and easy-to-use revision resources for Senior Cycle Biology. Many existing resources can be overwhelming, time-consuming to navigate or are not fully aligned with the Irish curriculum. I created LeavingCertBiology.ie, LeavingCertChemistry.ie and JuniorCyclesScience.ie to provide students, parents and teachers with resources that are clear, visually engaging and designed to support real understanding, not just memorisation.

LeavingCertBiology.ie is dedicated to supporting students studying Senior Cycle Biology in Ireland. Every resource is written specifically for the Irish specification and is designed to build confidence through structured, student-friendly learning.​
